#PhoenixBlaze: My Top 5 Towa Akagi/Cure Scarlet Moments

Gokigenyou! Before anything else, I'd like to greet a very happy birthday to Saaya Yakushiji aka Cure Ange from Hugtto! PreCure! How we are still missing our angel so much but yep, we still love and adore her, so here's another year full of endless hugs to Saaya.

Anyway, welcome to another edition of The Road to Cure Earth Watchalongs and this week, we're relieving the blazing and scorching debut of Towa Akagi aka Cure Scarlet from Go! Princess. Towachi is the third redeemed heroine in the Cure series after Setsuna Higashi/Cure Passion from Fresh! and Ellen Kurokawa/Cure Beat from Suite. She is followed by Ruru Amour/Cure Amour from Hugtto!, who debuted alongside Emiru Aisaki/Cure Macherie.

Without further ado before the watchalong proper, here are my top 5 Scarlet moments!

5. Hydrophobia strikes

Towachi is basically having hydrophobia, or the fear of any body of water especially the ocean, as revealed in the beach episode, which is ironically fitting considered her powers as a Cure.

4. Emotional reunion with an amnesiac Kanata

One of the episodes that hits me so hard emotionally from the season when the gang finally reunited with Kanata, who actually and really survives Dys Dark's wrath, but has amnesia which makes our blazing Towachi sadden so much.

3. Her first debut as the Black Princess

I was struck about Twilight's debut in awe yet somebody told me that she was gonna be a Cure one day. Anyways, very majestic but nerve chilling one and I like how she matches her Black Keys with the Princess Cures' Dress Up Keys, plus her staff is too amazing coz of its design and her melancholic violin tune for me might be used in funerals.

2. Saving Mochizuki-sensei

I love how Scarlet now utilizes about teamwork and fixing mistakes, and uses Mochizuki-sensei's words as a better trigger to save the principal from despair, something which is a return of the favor, with the power of dreams. Later on, she was enrolled in Noble Academy and goes with the surname Akagi which means "red castle" or "red dragon" at the end of the episode, in which made a surprise about Mochizuki-sensei's truth.

1. A scorching hot debut as the fourth Princess Cure

One of the most wonderful mid-season Cure debuts in the franchise, Scarlet's is basically not exempted in that! Her violin duet with Flora is so beautiful, and I like how she bravely faces Dyspear and replies back that she's not Twilight anymore before dragging into despair once more. However, her renewed dream of becoming a Grand Princess and resolution on committing her sins lead to becoming a Cure. Her entrance is so, so hot yet amazing and I love how the Scarlet Violin was born from her lovable bond with Kanata. Scarlet also vows to bringing back her brother in front of her new teammates.

That concludes my top 5 moments featuring Scarlet! What are your favorite moments from her? Comment here, on my FB page or on my Twitter @goddessyk13.

A Pretty Cure Series X-Over Fanart: The God and the Prince

TWO HANDSOME MEN FROM TWO DIFFERENT PARALLEL WORLDS| The blogger's illustration of Happiness Charge Pretty Cure!'s Earth deity Blue and Go! Princess Pretty Cure's Prince Hope Grand Kanata in traditional art form, uncolored, and along with their names both in Japanese and English writings was taken on the evening of March 7, 2016, Philippines Standard Time.

This is actually a proposal of mine for an art appreciation midterms project while watching a primetime news and evening soap operas, probably it took for few hours to finish it. So instead of the usual painting, why can't I do in the oil pastels instead para maiba naman (to make it different)? However before that, I've been experiencing illustration's block about a week ago (curses that same hell thing to Yui Nanase!) and I was about to lose hope in finding my muse for that proposal.

Then the time came, I was remembered and realized about what I did in doing a Pretty Cure crossover fan-art ft Yui-Yui herself and Seiji Sagara, so why not doing the same thing to Blue-sama and Prince Kanata? Ah finally! I found my inspiration at last.

On the side note, forgive me about the distorted stuff, but that was actually my drawing style infusing with the ones of Masayuki Sato and Yukiko Nakatani.

My Forecasts for the Go! Princess Pretty Cure Finale

It's the time of the year all over again as the Pretty Cure Series takes another and expected season finale coming into our shores.

The what ifs on the upcoming finale fight of the Princess Cures will now deck on us, the Cure fans, which can be triggered and affected in it. For Shut, it seems that he'd possible have a heel-face turn ala Michiru and Kaoru Kiryuu, Bunbee, Wester and Souler and Regina because... You know, he got so many failures and I think it's about time to step out of Dyspear's league and went to the side of the Haruno Squad once and for all; thus reuniting with Towachi/Cure Scarlet for a second chance (is this pun sounds familiar?). For Dyspear, I think she'll get a monstrous form and blast the Princess Cures in just a single blow and deform to their muggle selves. All four, and maybe Puff, Aroma, Yui-Yui, Kanata, Ms. Shamour and Kuroro, would face the huge despair they ever faced, about thrice than the one of Haru-Haru during episode 39.

Will the hand-holding thing come back in the finale? I hope so and if it does, this is one of the possible things to attain the Grand Princess forms. Yet I think it'll be with Scarlet and Kanata and maybe, the four Royal Fairies this time. As for Yui-Yui's upgraded willpower, that'd also a possibility whether for the said mention or restoring her Cure partners' powers and popping that golden DUK from nowhere to attain that final upgrade; or even, activating her own eleventh-hour power ala Ayumi "Cure Echo" Sakagami.

A fellow Cure fandom comrade of mine commented on the All Pretty Cure Facebook page that Yui-Yui would possibly be Dyspear birth daughter (OMG!!! I don't wanna happen unless a plot twist would occur in the style of Darth Vader's "Luke, I'm your father" thingy from Star Wars!) or even, the light to the dark witch's dark (ala Aguri/Cure Ace and Regina kind of thing) or a princess of another realm conquered by her. And thus, my inner and outer layers of my body had gone crazy following these proportions. Of the Cure helpers I've been encountered in my quite longtime Pretty Cure series fandom years (9 and a half years to be exact and going on a decade anniversary this 2016), I think Yui-Yui is the only one whose existence has been in mystery up to this moment.

About the upcoming finale fight, well I get the fact that the all-Cure upgrade during the season finale fight trope would have a miraculous comeback after two heck seasons, in short, about three years of getting the ever infamous Shibata Curse or the Cure leader-only upgrade trope would soon be ended now that the fiftieth and the finale episode of GPPC (the second season to have that following Fresh Pretty Cure!) has been revealed (and so as episodes 48 and 49 later on once the scans have been posted). Also for the first time since FPC (Heart Catch to Happiness Charge got their real main bad guys as final bosses and not the predicament main ones during their respective season finales), the main baddie will also be the final boss for the season, in this case, it's totally Dyspear! Plus, we'd about to see the golden Dress Up Key in the opening, in which could be the activation for the Grand Princess forms. Yet, we'll wait and see what our dear Princess Cures look like in the season's coda.

On Yui-Yui's involvement and participation in the finale fight, it seems that she'd be part of it but I wanted to have in a different approach, in contrast with Seiji's involvement in the HaChaPC finale fight but brainwashed and received a dark form, this time. Therefore, I'm still hoping and praying that she'd never ever be like her HaCha counterpart. The same goes with Kanata, because for me that he's more reliable and super useful so far than his not-so ungodly predecessor Blue-sama; so I'm betting that he'll be in there. But just like everything in the real world and in fiction, only time will tell.
