Welcome to another edition of The Road to Cure Earth Watchalongs and this time, we are relieving the very sweet debut of Kirarin/Ciel Kirahoshi aka Cure Parfait from KiraKira PreCure A La Mode. Ciel is the second fully formed mascot-turned-Cure heroine after Milk/Kurumi Mimino/Milky Rose from Yes! PreCure 5 GoGo! and interestingly, both are the sixth members of their respective teams. She's also the twin sister of Pikario/Rio Kuroki/Julio whom they're sharing the same birthday which is July 30, making them the first two mascots in the Cure series to have an official birthdate.
As always in the previous pre-watchalong proper blog posts, here are my top 5 Parfait moments!
5. Coming- err, Returning to Ichigozaka
Ciel's official debut surprised us when she made a return technically to Ichigozaka after years of taking pastry skills in Paris as a patissiere. But the genius sweets chef was catching up by the eyes of our bunny girl Ichika when the latter decided to have some lessons with Ciel herself.
4. Saving Bibury from the endless doom
The episode when the KiraKira Cures got the Kirakiraru Creamer from the late Cure Lumiere, Bibury staged a massive onslaught against our sweet heroines along with Iru. But instead of killing, Parfait took a stance to save her from Noir's influence and the gals purified the baddie with the Animal Go Round group finisher.
3. Julio taking the hit
This scene got me shock and sad at the same time when Julio, or rather Pikario, took the hit for Ciel so she can finish making her animal sweet and led himself into a temporary coma. It also eventually led her to become Cure Parfait in the process.
2. Encounter with a master pastry chef
Kirarin and Pikario met a master patissier named Jean-Pierre Zylberstein a few years before the season started and later reunited during the movie. He may be rude at times, but he's also the reason on making Ciel is right now as a renowned sweets chef.
1. Twins are cool
I love Ciel and Rio as twins, so their unconditional sibling love for each other have been reignited following the latter's reawakening from the coma and they want to restart their twinned relationship thanks to their friends. Isn't it cool?
